Jamie K - Food Allergy Mom @nutfreemomblog

"I could see the relief in my daughter's face. I cried. Lol. I hope you know how impactful this work is and how much you'll change the face of managing allergies."

Marisa S - Food Allergy Mom

"My son was diagnosed with peanut and tree nut allergies several years ago, and I felt like I was on this journey alone until I found Backstop.Ā Matt and his team have provided an outlet for me to ask questions and share my worries as a parent without being judged. They have provided different ways of thinking that I donā€™t think I would have reached on my own, and their support has helped me through several occasions. I am grateful for all Backstop is doing to help parents like me!"

Melissa H - Food Allergy Mom

"The Backstop community has been such a wealth of information for our family. As I navigate my childā€™s allergies, itā€™s incredible to connect with other parents that are experiencing the same challenges and share what has worked for them. My favorite part about the platform is the weekly huddles as it allows us to virtually connect with professionals that can help us through some of the dark times. I no longer feel alone or like my family is the only one that is dealing with this and I now have proper tools and action plans in place to get through the difficult times."

Frequently asked questions

Is BackstopĀ® private?

BackstopĀ® takes your privacy seriously. We do our utmost to safeguard your data and always get your permission before sharing your story with our food allergy care partners.

I'm overwhelmed and don't know what to do. Can BackstopĀ® really help?

Whether youā€™re completely new to the world of food allergy or have been managing the condition for years, our tech and service are designed to help you and your family find a personalized care plan that works for your unique journey.

Either way, we will be there with you step-by-step, day-by-day. From prevention and diagnosis to management, treatment and ongoing care, our compassionate network of US-Licensed providers have you covered every step of the way.

We work with families with a wide range of food allergy histories and all kinds of different health and lifestyle needs. Our childhood food allergy experts see and live with the impact of allergies on a kidā€™s life everyday and are here to help and support even complex stories.

Can BackstopĀ® help me find the right allergist for my child?

If you havenā€™t found the perfect allergist yet, we will introduce you to one of our preferred partner locations and provide end-to-end support for services that cannot be effectively done virtually.

There are many allergists, but few have a primary focus on food allergy. Unfortunately we see a lot of children misdiagnosed with food allergy. Weā€™ll help you find a compassionate specialist with deep experience performing ā€œfood challengesā€ ā€“ a gold standard diagnostic tool to rule out certain food allergies and make your life a little easier. Weā€™ll help with the referral and work directly with the specialist to build your childā€™s personalized action plan.

How can IĀ access additional support?

As a BackstopĀ®Plus+ member, you will get special pricing on live consultations with our growing team of US-Licensed Professionals who specialize in comprehensive food allergy prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment planning.

Is BackstopĀ® covered by insurance?

We are not covered by insurance at this time. We do, however, work collaboratively with employers who want to address the food allergy needs found within their employee populations, and we can work with payers, brokers, and directly with families to address their concerns, cut prescription costs and relieve stress.

Our direct payment option is designed to be affordable and accessible to everyone - so that you can have full access to the food allergy solutions you so deserve.

What does BackstopĀ® mean?

ā€In baseball and softball, a "backstop" is a fence placed a short distance behind the catcher to stop the ball if he or she fails to catch it. In the world of food allergy, BackstopĀ® is a continuous support system for navigating your entire journey with confidence and calm.
